Grief

Grief

This week was one of the hardest weeks of my life… As I write this I know that a majority of the people reading this know just what I am talking about because we all know what it is like to lose a loved one. I have in the past lost Grandparents, Friends, Pets, and also have witnessed good Friends lose there loved ones as well. The lose of my father is more then crippling to me. This was my worst fear growing up and I know for a fact that I’m not alone with this fear. Being 45 and losing my Dad has not made it any easer or softened the blow of the finality of this event happening.

Grieving this week for my Father pushed me to the edge. My father is no longer in pain and is in a better place and I am happy for that. But for the living who have to carry on after the loved one has passed it is truly a roller coaster ride to say the least. I learned this week there is no time line to grief, that we all have to deal with it in our own way, heal the loss and learn to live our lives differently with out our loved ones. We have to keep our memories alive and in doing so we keep them alive in our hearts. This is so much easer said and written 😊 then it is to done in real life. But there is no other way!

On Wednesday, I received a message on face book from a friend and I would like to share it with everyone.

Hi Darcy ... I met you at the Running Room in Stoney Creek ... I just wanted to share something very endearing that happened ... the day I finished reading your book so happened to be the day your dad passed away .. some may find that coincidental .. I find it very endearing ... although I have met you only once, I feel like I have known you my whole life and that is because you shared your incredible life story for me to read and understand ... I am very sad again to hear about your dad. I just want to send you a gentle reminder (as I know you already know this) but as you go through this tough time with the loss of your dad , please continue to use your tools of journaling and go to your happy place and be the big tree with all those amazing growing branches ... how are you feeling today? Today I am 100% positive, 99% happy – Thanks to you.

This massage hit me on so many Levels and inspired me greatly. The end of the message was so powerful because my tools from my book were being used! and I can say with a big smile I am 100% hopeful, 99% positive, 100% driven to live my life and help as many people as I can. I am inspired to do so because of this message form you Assunta Cindy Jeffery. Thank you! Also thank you to the over 300 plus people who gave their condolences and showed sympathy for my family’s loss.

D’Arcy Joseph Patrick loved helping everyone around him and he was the happiest man when he was doing so. Grief is the hardest thing to under stand and to go through, to everyone who has lost a friend or a family member get a journal and a pen or a pencil and start writing, feel all your emotions the good the bad and the ugly take your time and heal and learn to live your life differently….but keep them alive in your heart!
